Known limits — worth reading before reporting a bug
- A relist is a different item. Many sellers do not restock a listing; they create a new one. The old id stays sold out forever and restockme has no way to connect the two. If a shop tends to relist, watch the shop on Etsy as well.
- Stock is per listing, not per variant. The public Etsy API reports one quantity for a whole listing. A scarf listed in six colours shows a single number, so "back in stock" can mean a colour you did not want. Per-variant stock needs an authenticated seller connection, which a buyer-side app has no business asking for.
- Checks are hourly, not instant. An item can come back and sell out again inside one hour and you will never hear about it. Nothing can be done about that short of polling far harder than is reasonable.
- A "no longer listed" item will never alert. That state means Etsy has dropped the listing entirely, not that it sold out. Remove it and watch the seller's replacement.
- Prices shown are from the last check and exclude shipping, taxes and variant surcharges.
Common problems
- No alert arrived. Check that alert emails are on, that the item is shown as "sold out" rather than "no longer listed", and your spam folder. "Check everything now" in the app forces an immediate pass.
- "That does not look like an Etsy listing link or id." Paste the full listing URL from the address bar, or just the number in it. Shop and search URLs will not work — it has to be one listing.
- Sign-in bounced back. Usually a stale tab. Reload and start again.
Deleting your data
"Delete my account and list" in the app erases your email address and every watched listing immediately. Details are on the privacy page.
